General Contractor:
BioStarNorman Solar has two sites: the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and Water Reclamation Facility (WRF).
The WTP has a 480 KW DC fixed system backing up two sections of switchgear that reach arrays via 500 feet of directional bores. The plant utilizes eight inverters and two custom, horizontal panel boards.
The WRF includes five separate interconnection locations securely backed up by 1.67 MW. Each interconnection has its own directional bore from the solar arrays up to 1900 feet long, without splices. Arrayed in a flood plain, certain solar modules are almost five feet off the ground! Flood planning also requires five panelboards and 21 inverters be installed two feet above base flood elevation, calling for custom-manufactured horizontal panelboards.
