The 80 MW Palmer Solar is located in Fountain, CO. The project is spread across two different locations with solar arrays that are being built simultaneously two miles apart – one on Birdsall Road, and the other on Squirrel Creek Road. Duke Energy is funding the project and will be the owner of the facility. Colorado Springs Utilities will be the off-taker of the energy generated by the array. The Palmer Solar project kicked off in May 2019 and was completed in December 2019.
